Meet Dr. Palmer
I completed my psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Diego, ranking #1 out of 58 residents on exams in my final year.
I have substantial experience with military personnel, including a year-long deployment to Iraq as a contractor for the US Army and Marine Corps.
I am board-certified in psychiatry, and have specialised training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, OCD, PTSD, and mental health issues related to childbirth and women.
We Partner with Insurance for Better Care in California
I established my private practice to offer a safe and respectful environment for patients to share their concerns without fear of judgement. My approach to mental health combines evidence-based medical treatments with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of good health: adequate sleep, a healthy diet, regular exercise, sobriety, and supportive social interactions. As an expert in psychopharmacology, I often prescribe medication, but I also prioritise non-pharmacological factors in all consultations.
Our clinic is committed to non-discrimination, welcoming individuals of all races, ages, genders, sexual orientations, spiritual beliefs, disabilities, and veteran statuses. My professional integrity is paramount; I maintain financial relationships solely with my patients and their insurers, and do not accept funding from pharmaceutical companies.
